The Host and Other Ramblings.

So besides my continuous boredom, I have been reading the Host. The book has me completely engrossed. My nail biting habit had seceded until i became fascinated with the book. It's crazy how emotionally attached you can be involved in a book. When she's hungry, I'm hungry. When she's heartbroken, I'm heartbroken. I would very much recommend this book to everyone. (Although some people have told me they couldn't get into it.)

Locks of Love

Before:

As terrified as i was sitting in the chair at the salon i went through with it.

It was a great trial to cut off all that hair, and i'm very proud of myself.

I think I even like my hair short! :)

What My Mother Doesn't Know

So basically my blog is turning into a good book corner. The thing I HATE about books is that when you have a really good book you just can't stop! I read this book in about 2 hours.
Don't read this book if:
1. you're a boy
2. if you hate poetry
3. you hate what teenage girls talk about
this book is all poems, but it has to be one of my favorites. Every poem catches the moment perfectly and makes you want more.
....if only I had a Murphey.....

Inside Jokes... and got to be there moments!

I know that these stories may not make any sense or be funny, maybe you just had to be there...

THE ATTRACTIVE UTENSIL:
Mel and I were at Keenans house texting eachother from across the room so no one could hear. Mel was telling me how cute he was and i called him a fork instead of a dork, stupid predictive text, anyway, she said that he was one attractive untensil.

NEXT STOP IDAHO!:
Mel and I invited our friend Zaq to a party on the last day of school. Leave it to Zaq to get lost. I had to run around the neighbor hood trying to find him, what a pain! But, some how we started joking that on the way home he was going to get lost and end up in Idaho and that I would have to drive up there to save him. Every time we get lost we say we're going to Idaho!

THE SHOE:
This has to be one of the funniest stories! Mel decides that she wants to see how high her shoe will fly in the air at smiths. I laughed thinking that she was just kidding then i see her flip-flop flying in the air and lands on top of the ledge above the cheese. She had to get on my shoulders and get her shoe off the top, all while my pants are falling down and I can't pull them up cuz she's on me!

*HIGH FIVE*!:
So I went on a date with a friend, who will not be named because of the situation, and it came time to go home. He was walking me to the door then all the sudden he's like HIGH FIVE! I probably had this stunned look on my face.. but i just hugged him instead now we always are like HIGH FIVE!

Blah

Usually I go to one person for advice. What do you do when that person is the one that hurt you this time? I don't know if I am jealous or hurt or what. I'm very confused. Never in my life has one thing happened to me like a hundred times. Okay, that was an exaggeration. But it's happened like 3 times in the past year. Some of you may be confused (If any one even reads this.)

I think I annoy my mom when I have no one to talk to. I got home from work at 8, basically I didn't stop talking until 12. Can life be any more hurtful?

The 13th Reality

What if every time you made a choice that had a significant consequence, a new, alternate reality was created — the life that would've been had you made the other choice? What if those new realities were in danger? What if it fell to you to save all the realities?

Atticus Higginbottom, a.k.a. Tick, is an average thirteen-year-old boy until the day a strange letter arrives in his mailbox. Postmarked from Alaska and cryptically signed with the initials "M.G.," the letter informs Tick that dangerous--perhaps even deadly — events have been set in motion that could result in the destruction of reality itself. M.G. promises to send Tick twelve riddles that will reveal on a certain day, at a certain time, at a certain place, something extraordinary will happen. Will Tick have the courage to follow the twelve clues M.G. sends to him? Will he be able to solve the riddles in time? Will Tick discover the life he was meant to live?

The first volume of an outstanding new fantasy series, The Journal of Curious Letters is filled with adventure, humor, riddles, and, oh, yes — danger. . . As M.G. warns Tick, Very frightening things are coming your way. Will you join Tick and his friends on an amazing journey through the Realities? What will your choice be?

Choices

In a past entry I talked about how our choices affect others so much. http://laurenlavon.blogspot.com/2007/12/choices.html

Have you been thinking about it?? Hmm..??
I have even more with driving. If you chose to drink and drive
it's your fault if someone dies. How sad
would that be?

Remember you're not the only one involved
with your consequences.

The Gateway Adventure

Ok I am sure all of you have been to the Gateway mall at least once in your life. It's even better with your friends.

Today, Keenan, Melissa, and I took an adventure on the bus to the gate way mall. For starters the guy on the bus was a creepy old guy. He was talking to Keenan about his 2 girlfriends. (That would be us lol) He asked all 3 of us how old we were and such. He really didn't believe that I was 16 what a weirdo, I don't look 21.

Second: Arcade
After Keenan and I raced we thought Melissa should play a game too. So she gets on the motorcycle and tries to ride. I laughed so hard. No offense Mel, but you are not good at video games. Some how she placed 3rd place between 2 people. Lol.

Third: Massage Chairs
Well, there is always free samples somewhere you just have to find them right? Some how Keenan knew where the free 10 minute massage chairs were so we decided that is how we would end our adventure before we had to take the bus home. Let's just say we all had a hard time leaving haha.

...♥

So these are my two cute puppies that I thought I would share with you.

I did my speech in English today, which I got 25/25 on by the way! It went good! I was so amazed! I wasn't comfortable at first but the I was fine after I started talking about NUAMES.

Other news: I got a job at K-Mart and it is now official that I am going to California in April! Yay sunshine! haha.

Also I am not happy the semester is ending. I loved my classes the way they were. Change is good I guess though. I do have 2 classes with friends this next semester instead of one so I guess that is a plus.

My sister's (Ashlee) wedding is on Friday and my other sister (Tarrin) flies in tomorrow, which I am way excited about. I got a really pretty dress, I'll post pictures after the wedding. I also have to play the violin in it. Yikes! For any of you out there that don't know I am really not good with playing in front of a large group by my self. I hope I do well, I wouldn't want to screw up her wedding.

KO2

Last night I was thinking about a lot of things, and I guess I forgot to tell you guys I joined a club at school. It's called KO2 which stands for Knock Out Oppression.

op·pres·sion
1.
an act or instance of oppressing (to keep down by severe
and unjust use of force or authority.)

We try to help people accept others as they are. This is why I have been very angry about stereotypes lately. There are many other things that people judge upon.

1) Faith or Religion

2) Sexual Orientation

3) Appearance

4) Ability

5) Age and Gender

There are also many ways that they avoid you and other things. But I want all you to know that I am not a judgemental person and you can tell me anything. Really, anything.
